A Monster Calls - Patrick Ness, Jim Kay The visuals were stunning, and the story heartbreaking. I love how the author approaches the life of "the grey area" that we as kids all have to grow up learning that the world is not always so much black and white. The best part was in how Conor had to realize that actions always speak louder than words. I loved the metaphoric and allegoric ...should I just say symbolism that the monster represented. I feel that he's there inside all of us...we confront him at times, and if we do not "speak the truth" we will end up insane. :)
